FiveM Server Listings Move to Cfx Portal: What Owners Need to Know

FiveM and RedM listing names, tags, images and Discord links moved to Cfx Portal on October 21, 2026. Check your server's public details.

Your FiveM server can be online and accepting connections while its public listing looks incomplete. That matters because the server browser is often a player's first introduction to a community.

Cfx announced a change to FiveM and RedM server metadata management on October 14 and confirmed it went live on October 21, 2026. Instead of relying on local server configuration for the public-facing details, owners now manage those fields through Cfx Portal.

Review your server listing in Cfx Portal now.

On October 21, 2026, Cfx moved FiveM and RedM listing metadata to Cfx Portal. Owners should verify their name, description, language, tags, banner, profile image and Discord link there. Some old information was imported automatically, but incomplete listings need manual attention.

What changed on October 21?

Cfx says server names, descriptions, tags, language, imagery and associated Discord links are now managed in Cfx Portal for both FiveM and RedM. The platform tried to copy over recently available metadata, but could not recover every server's previous information.

When Cfx cannot populate required listing information, the server browser may show “Missing server data (must be configured in Portal)”. That message is about public listing details; it does not by itself prove that your game server or resources are offline.

Five tags, updated banner sizes and Discord links

Owners can select up to five unique tags for the public listing. If a server previously used more, Cfx says only the first five in chronological order are displayed. Choose descriptions that accurately represent your server instead of filling the slots with unrelated keywords.

The recommended banner dimensions are 2560 × 280 pixels, with a minimum of 1825 × 200. Cfx recommends 512 × 512 pixels for the profile image, with a minimum of 256 × 256. You can also attach your community's Discord link in the Portal, where players will see it in server details.

Cfx's official October 14 announcement defines the tag limit and image dimensions.

What FiveM and RedM server owners should do

Sign in to the Cfx Portal with the account that controls your registered server. Review the public metadata and fill in any fields that were not migrated. Save the changes, then find the server in the FiveM or RedM client to confirm what players actually see.

Keep this separate from connectivity troubleshooting. If the server does not appear at all, Cfx's server-issues guide recommends direct-connect tests and checks for firewall and listing configuration problems. Changing a banner will not fix a closed game port.

  1. Open the server in Cfx Portal

Review the name, description, language and imagery associated with your registration.

  2. Correct tags and community links

Keep five or fewer relevant tags and verify the Discord invitation.

  3. Check the actual listing

Search for the server in the client and confirm its appearance from a player's perspective.

  4. Troubleshoot connectivity separately

If players cannot connect, test the network and review logs rather than assuming metadata is the cause.

Does this change server.cfg?

Current Cfx server-command documentation marks the old project name, project description and hostname listing variables as deprecated and directs operators to use Portal instead. That is a reason to update your internal setup instructions, not a reason to delete unrelated configuration or rebuild a working server.

The official announcement does not require a server wipe, database migration or hosting-provider change. Backups remain good practice, but this particular rollout concerns how communities present themselves in the browser.

A couple more questions

Why does my FiveM listing say missing server data?

Cfx says some historical metadata could not be imported. Check the server's listing fields in Cfx Portal and fill any gaps.

Does this affect RedM too?

Yes. Cfx confirmed the October 21 rollout applies to both FiveM and RedM.

Do I need to reinstall FXServer?

Cfx did not announce a reinstall requirement for this metadata change. Review the Portal listing first.
